Greg has been a lifelong resident of Montana, and his family has 5 generations
of hard working Montanans who have raised families in Montana. His mother's
family first came to Montana in the 1860s and began hauling freight off the steam ships at Fort Benton on the Missouri River.

Greg was born in Malta and raised in Lake County. He attended schools in Polson and graduated from Ronan High School in 1976. He attended the University of Montana and paid for his schooling by working at Plum Creek Lumber in Pablo during the summers. In 1980 he graduated with a degree in Business Administration and passed the Certified Public Accounting exam. He worked for accounting firms in Kalispell and Billings before coming back to Polson to start his own accounting practice in 1983. In 1989 he became involved in the grocery business as the controller of Moodys Market Inc in Polson. In 1998 he became the majority owner of the company and the President/CEO. Moodys Market Inc currently operates six grocery stores including Super 1 Foods in Polson; Harvest Foods in Ronan, Lolo, Thompson Falls and St. Maries, ID; and Blacktail Grocery in Lakeside. Moodys Market Inc currently employs approximately 225 employees.

Greg has always been actively involved in his community and currently is a
member of numerous civic organizations. He has been married to Kate for
42 years, and together they have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Greg served in the Montana House of Representatives during the 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 legislative sessions. During the 2019 session Greg served as Speaker of the House. Due to term limits Greg will be running for Senate District 6 in the Montana legislature for the 2021 legislative session.
